Cloverfield = yay
Here’s my story about seeing Cloverfield.
On opening night we were so excited to see this movie, so we make plans to get a babysitter and go out on the town. We get to the theater and low and behold it’s sold out! Argh.
So we go to another theater across town. It’s not sold out there. So we wait in line (it’s freezing) and when we’re about 3 people away from the ticket counter, it sells out. So we see “I am Legend” instead. good movie.
Then a few weeks later we go to California, go out with my sister and Abner, and go to see Cloverfield. We check the times online and go to the theater. We get there and the guy at the counter says it isn’t playing, and that the internet was wrong, which he claims is common. Foiled again!
So tonight we try again. We find the only theater where this movie is still playing some rinky dink sketchfest in Renton. The place is empty. We walk up to the counter, expecting the worst. “Two tickets to Cloverfield please.” “Here you go, enjoy your show.” Success!
We get into the theater and revel in our recent victory. The movie starts. The whole thing is filmed with a handheld camera, but we didn’t get dizzy. This movie was everything we hoped it would be! It was intense, scary, interesting, not cheesy, fun, short, action packed, and had a great ending. I would see it again. PLUS apparently if you watch it again the final scene (the scene filmed weeks before when they were on the ferris wheel) shows the monster falling from the sky into the water…
